Poor diplomacy
The defeat in the election of OIC secretary general has exposed the weakness of our vision and diplomacy. Before the departure of our team to Turkey, the press was informed that around 28 countries would support our candidature out of 57 countries. In fact, our diplomats failed to grasp the reality in the right perspective. A few days back, the foreign minister's visit to New Delhi failed to bring any results, rather people believe that there was no reason to beseech for our right cause in such a poor way.
The nation has also observed the way the permission to Taiwan for commercial operation was accorded and rescinded later on. People also like to see our diplomatic relations with Malaysia to be more cordial and mutually beneficial. The way we are conducting sensitive diplomatic matters does not reflect the wisdom and genius of the nation. Some times it is very much stooping in deliberation, some times it is very poor in acumen. Definitely we can improve our position provided it is guided by wisdom. Can't we try for it?
