Praising America
I must admit I was intrigued by the op-ed piece written by a former IGP in the August 16 issue. The forthright manner in which the former police chief actually praised the better aspects of American society i.e., social mobility, relative egalitarianism, and rule of law, is a sharp departure from the usual plethora of America-bashing on the pages of our newspapers.
