Price hike--whom should we blame?
Prices depend on supply and demand. We obviously have more demand than supply. Now any government can increase supply to bring the price down. But for the government to do that, it must have enough buying power. Our government does not have that buying power. Yes, you can complain that the government stole all the money away and so lost its buying power. However, even without corruption (impossible as it sounds), the government will not have enough money to lower oil price -- which is the main cause of the recent price hike. In other words, the blame game will not take us anywhere. If we really want to help the poor who are suffering as I speak, let's come up with a better and innovative solution. Let's encourage increase in our local production by looking for scientific and alternate ways.
I wish to see newspapers writing more articles on how we, as individuals, can economise, grow our assets, increase our productivity and become self-sufficient.
Big countries like the US went through its own share of economic depression (inflation) in the '30s, '40s and '70s. See how they came about. We all have to put our efforts together. Do not let the political parties mislead you with the price hike issue -- do not let them take advantage of this situation. Otherwise, we will run into the same scenario time and again.
Remember, microeconomics can be controlled at our own individual level.
