Punish the culprits
A teen-aged girl in village Jalsha under Dhamrai Upazilla of Dhaka district was gang-raped by the miscreants on 12 March near a brickfield when she was returning from her workplace. Four days after the tragic incident, police filed the case. When the local people brought out a procession demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and those who were responsible for the unpardonable attempt to conceal the gang rape, some media men came to cover the story. At present the innocent victim is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. Learning the bad news from the newspapers, I went to my locality. As a conscious citizen, I appeal for help from the high-ups of the law enforcing agencies and the ministry concerned so that the real culprits are punished and the innocent people are not harassed.
