I am responding to the editorial titled RAB published on December 9. Of course no one is licensed to kill, not only in a democratic country but also in any country. But when it comes to questioning the RAB, I have to say that in a country where there is just one policeman for every 10,000 people and law is almost useless, the government needs to come up with some alternative solution. They are doing this to make our life safer. If you think RAB is not right why don't you suggest some better realistic solution and share with us? Before I finish I would like to answer some of your questions.

If RAB's actions be supported like this, then no one will ever go to the court to seek justice ever again. Are we heading towards such a future in this country?

Why would not RAB's actions be supported if they can give us secure life? Or you want people to protest when the criminals like "Pichchi Hannan" or "Kala Jahangir" get killed?

If anyone is guilty of any crime, let the court decide. Why kill?

If our law was strict enough and all the criminals were punished properly, I would not write this article. We all know about our court and police. If they did their job properly, RAB would not be needed at all.

In conclusion, I would like to add, at this point of time, there is not any solution to stop crimes other than RAB in a country like Bangladesh. I am not saying our life is 100% safe because now we have RAB, but we have to accept the fact that it is not going to change overnight. Why don't we stop being cynical for a while and look forward to seeing a safe Bangladesh?
