Renovate BCS
Public Service Commission, an authorised body of the Ministry of Establishment, is going to conduct the 25th BCS examinations. The jobs under BCS cadres are lucrative in Bangladesh. That is why almost all the university graduates have a huge crush on the BCS. But if we anatomise the recruitment procedures of the BCS, we find many shortcomings in it. For better output from our civil service, the BCS should be modernised.
As English is a lingua franca, it must be emphasised in the examination process. Optional subjects should be cancelled to minimise discrimination among the students of different schools. Finally, all kinds of quota system should be abolished.
