The Supreme Court upheld the High Court directives on Election Commission' preparation of a voter list for the next national elections. The SC asked the EC to update the existing electoral roll. So we can be sure that the election-engineering blueprint of the EC has been scuttled. The CEC shrugged off the January 4 HC directives. He took a self-propelled step to make a fresh voter list squandering a lot of money.

He could update the existing voter list that would certainly bypass controversy and enhance acceptability.
