Snap of reality

For educational purpose, I am out of the country for the last two years. So even though I used to read the newspapers on the net regularly ,it is hard for any person to get the country's actual picture without experiencing it firsthand. But after coming to Bangladesh last month, I was really astonished to see how the condition in respect of law and order has deteriorated dramatically over the years.

Being the member of a minority community, we know how many social obstacles we have to face in our daily life. For the new generation life has become a frustrating proposition. But when people like SQ Chowdhury make offensive comments in press meetings towards any specific community (who are a minority), does not it show his own shallow mentality? But the most surprising thing about the whole fiasco by SQ was that the government has not made a single comment on this issue. The whole society was in for a rude shock by his comments. I think the government showed this type of nonchalant attitude before, and acted as if this type of comments were nothing surprising.

I would like to ask the government how long will it take to open its eyes and read the lines on the walls?
