After the Bolshevik Revolution in the former USSR in 1917, socialism as an ideology was getting ground in the Indian sub-continent. The colonial government pursued 'divide and rule' policies in the political, economic and social fronts. They protected 556 Princely States and raised taxes and funds across British India to run their government, empire and also the two World Wars.

In Great Britain, the English Society was segmented into five classes and with the advent of Industrial Revolution the writings of Karl Marx and Frederick Angels became popular as these were highlighting the 'deprivations of the workers' and methodology to overcome the odds and ultimately control the means of productionin fields, factories and societies.

Vladimir I. Lenin and Chairman Mao Tse Tung implemented socialism and communism in the former USSR and the People's Republic of China respectively with success.

Socialism upheld certain values. These must not be forgotten in the greater interest of humanity.
