"Speaking against Jamaat"

It was hard to believe and I was at a loss whether to cry out hysterically or emit a loud laugh seeing a news item [DS, April 4]. The report says (quoting someone) speaking against Jamaat-e-Islami is tantamount to speaking against Islam. What kind of Islam he was referring to. The Jamaat collaborated with the occupation forces in killing of innocent people, looting and burning their homes, driving out innocent people out of their homes and country and raping women. Which brand of Islam it was at that time?

People are still allowing the Jamaat leaders to spread venom in public. People in any country get what they deserve. We also got the type of leadership that we deserved by electing our leaders. We got a free and independent Bangladesh because people wanted and fought for it. Later, people worked in a different manner and are getting what they really deserve.
