SSC exam

This year a total of 4,50,000 students passed the SSC exam. Among them 15,000 got GPA 5.00. Against this, the total seats available in the colleges are 3,00,000 of which 20,000 are in the 'good colleges'. So the admission of 15 per cent of the SSC qualified students is uncertain. Moreover, 'good colleges' will admit only good students without giving opportunity to other students through open admission test.

To avert this crisis, the govt should take necessary steps to increase the number of seats in colleges against the increased number of students every year. Also, admission test should be open to all students so that a student, who could not do well in the SSC, can get a second chance to get admission in a reputed college.

I draw the attention of the relevant authorities to take urgent steps to solve the problem of college admission.
