A stubborn CEC
We, the ordinary people of this country, are entirely disappointed at the way CEC is viewing the upcoming general election. He is going his own way to prepare a fresh voter list, despite opposition from within the Election Commission. He was opposed to the loud complaints against the presence of huge ghost voters in the voter list which was prepared on his unilateral insistence, costing no less than Tk 60 crore. It is the SC verdict that declared the voter list illegal. Now the CEC says 'no' to AL-BNP call to 'go door to door'.
Political parties in this country have no tolerance, so our nascent democracy can't grow mature. Unfortunately, CEC's stubbornness is similar to the obstinacy of political parties. Time is running out, but nothing is being done. The political crisis is worsening.
