Summer holidays are the longest vacation all round the world. There is no exception in this regard in our universities as well. Traditionally, summer vacations in our country commence from June. However, as we know May is the hottest month in our country when the mercury rises up to the maximum. To date, 41.2 degree Celsius is the highest in this summer. In this roasting heat, our teachers and we are struggling to concentrate in our classes. Even I saw one of my fellow university bus-mates falling sick in the bus due to heat. To add to our misery, frequent hide and seek of electricity is prevalent . Therefore my point is if the universities remain closed during the month of May instead of June, it will protect us from this sizzling heat as well as save a good amount of electricity which is usually a crying need in the summer. To me, summer vacation in June is becoming irrelevant and illogical.

I do request the university authorities to think over this matter and come out with pragmatic steps.
