Tale of female Ansars
The harrowing plight of the female Ansars working as domestic help in households of Saudi Arabia as depicted in your daily as well as in the electronic media is extremely sad. But I am sure it did not come as much of a surprise because the initial reaction of most people to the news was, ' We knew this was going to happen!' There are many examples of labourers not being meted out very good treatment by their employers in the countries of the Middle East. Every human being has a right to dignity at the workplace, specially women who are most vulnerable, and as such the humiliation at the hands of their affluent employers in no doubt a violation of human rights. After returning from the KSA, these women may not even find a good position in their own fields.
