Two billion dollars FDI offer by Tata, a business conglomerate of India is uncertain . A few months back, a Bangladeshi delegation went to India and convinced Tata to invest in our country. As per reports, Tata showed interest to invest in steel, fertiliser and power sectors. But sadly enough, after the August 21 grenade attack on an AL rally political situation of our country became very volatile and turbulent. So Tata's FDI proposal is totally uncertain. Mr Ratan Tata, the chairman of this business heavyweight, has postponed his visit to Bangladesh. If Tata undoes its offer, Bangladesh will lose a great bonanza. The government should take this matter seriously.

The Board of Investment will have to play proactive role to convince Tata. But the political condition should be normalised first of all.
