It has been reported that the teachers of non-govt high schools, madrasahs and colleges, who have retired since the year 2000, will be donated a handsome retirement lump grant. I was a teacher from the very first day of my professional life in 1953 till the day of my retirement in 1997 . With firm conviction, and recollecting the past events, I earnestly state that we served the nation with a sense of dedication and commitment. We had no books and other necessary teaching appliances and good school buildings. My service began with a monthly salary of 45.00+5.00 Tk DA in Chandaikona High School under Serajganj district.

I appeal to the honourable prime minister to kindly look into our case and make us eligible for the special grants that the government is going to offer to the teachers who retired after 2000.
