This refers to the commentary written by you on October 21. Bangladesh has again been the joint champion in corruption on the basis of the survey conducted by Transparency International (TI). The most corrupt country for the last five years! Almost all the high-profile ministers of the BNP government are unfortunately blaming the press for this revelation by TI. You have rightly made an exclusive analysis of the fact of which our leaders are either completely ignorant or pretending to be so. It's made crystal clear that this survey was conducted by some relevant foreign sources that include some world famous news agencies and that's in no way based on our newspaper reports. It's indeed very unfortunate that these people at the wheel of power of the nation make such mockeries about themselves that the point extends to a total embarrassment for the nation as whole. The foreign minister blatantly blamed the mediaprint media, making his own version of the point that the freedom that our press is enjoying is at the root of all evilsputting the country at so high a position on the scale of corruption! He's supposed to know all the facts behind the report. Our finance minister has been blaming the media since a long time back. He even once termed the media as the strongest/main enemy of the country. These irrelevant comments by the high-brats do put our national esteem at a very low scale.Another disgusting fact is that whenever this curse has fallen around their necks, leaders of the ruling party go straight against the opposition-- making the above-sorted deliberations. Conversely, when they remain in the opposition camp they just jump on to the conclusion that all these reports are done quite timely, sensibly and so forth. This trend is not a good sign at all for a nation, rather these sort of insane exercises do mar the dignity of the nation. Let us fight corruption that will undoubtedly do us good in every respect we do not have to get to the TI report.
We all know that corruption at all levels of the society is engulfing the nation. Let us be sincere in our conviction and make a determined effort for the progress of our beloved country.
