I am surprised at the amount of column spaces devoted to responding to a 'single' negative article about Bangladesh. One wonders if the critics even bothered to read the article in question. If so, nothing what the author wrote would surprise anybody who reads any of the numerous dailies, including this newspaper. Every day the front pages are full of lurid stories about murders, looting, robberies, etc.
Everybody knows this yet they act surprised when 'foreign' media reports what is known to anybody who is even remotely familiar with Bangladesh.
