Traffic jam

Traffic jam is an ever-growing chronic problem of Dhaka city. Moreover, traffic jam during the month of Ramadan exceeded all limits of tolerance and patience.

It takes more than one hour and a half to reach Banani from Motijheel. With two thirds majority, we expected the government to perform better and start the ball rolling towards a solution of traffic problems of Dhaka city. But to our utter dismay, we find nothing tangible has so far been done or achieved.

We found that a nice presentation was given on the metro rail system and also on sky train. A few flashy news items appeared in the media. Then the issues seemed to have died down. Are they all gimmicks to hoodwink the suffering city dwellers?

We demand that if you cannot think, plan, perform and implement-- please get out of this and let some more able, visionary, dynamic and quick decision makers do the jobs.

We demand actions, not mere rhetoric.
