Uncertainty about DU Puja vacation

As we all know, due to the recent indefinite strike called by the six opposition backed student organisations, the DU remained closed for nearly a month. We did not want any more session jams, so we, the regular general students, wanted the DU to open soon. Eventually the strike was called off and we were a bit relieved. Hopefully, classes and exams will be taken as scheduled. But we will have another vacation soon and that will be during Durga Puja. As the university was closed for unforeseen reasons, exams could be taken during that vacation.

But to the Hindu community it is not just a vacation. It's a holy time and it comes only once in a year; it's time for a special prayer.

Could the DU authorities hold exams during the Eid vacation if a similar situation arose?

Hindus don't have two holy occasions during a year (like Muslims). So let them have their vacation because if exams are held during the vacation, it will be totally lost. Of course we don't want any more delay in our academic life, but the lost time can be recovered by reducing the duration of the next summer vacation .

Can't The Daily Star focus on the issue?
