US double standard
Actually, as an impact of the US decision, Israel will lose only an insignificant portion of the total amount of money it receives from the US. Every year, Israel receives aid that comes from US tax payers' money. This kind of aid should normally go to the least developed countries. However, most of the money Israel receives from the US goes to bolstering its military might to unnerve its Arab neighbours -- a major reason behind the recent upsurge in global terrorism for which Muslims are blamed.
A slight change in US policy could make our world a better and safer place to live in. The US government, of course, can criticise the Palestinian authority for sending suicide bombers and killing innocent Israeli civilians disregarding the teachings of Islam. But the US government must try to realise why these people, especially people from the Islamic world, do not like Americans so much in spite of their contributions to the development of science and technology, health, education etc. The entire global population is enjoying the fruits of so many American successes, as 70 per cent of the entire global research work in all sectors is done in the US alone.
The US government can also easily save the billions of dollars they are spending all around the world and the lives of US soldiers dying unnecessarily in the battlefields, thousands of miles away from their motherland in the name of 'war against terrorism' by tuning up their existing policy towards a just global order.
Also a move from the most powerful nation in the world to bring closer the scholars and leaders of all religions in an effort to remove hatred, misgivings, misinterpretation of each other's religion and to solve common global problems like terrorism in the name of religion is the need of the hour.
