Use of acronyms
I want to draw your attention to The Daily Star's widespread use of acronyms without elaborating these acronyms. In your latest editorial "ACC Organogram" on April 24 you did not care to describe what the acronym "ACC" stands for. May be it's quite well known to the readers in Bangladesh, but every day you are likely to get a few new readers who are reading the newspaper for the first time.
It does not matter how well known an acronym is, describing the acronym at least once in the text of any news writing is a standard practice in journalism. While living abroad I don't find time to read your otherwise excellent newspaper daily. But I often read The Daily Star to get my country's news. I realised that 'ACC' possibly refers to an organisation's name, but I have no idea what this organisation is all about.
