October 15 was Village Women's Day. To make this occasion effective we should ensure the welfare of the grassroots level women of the villages in Bangladesh. Ours is a poor country, the women in villages are severely neglected maternal health care, proper behaviour, job and other facilities are sadly missing for them. All the year round they do hard work but don't get the right wages or proper care even in their own homes.

A village woman at her husband's home doesn't get proper evaluation for the hard labour. In the villages of our country, women have about fifty percent agro-economic contribution but they never get the value for their work .

Our mentality must be changed.
