Violation of norms
I read in some newspapers how an MP made vulgar personal remarks about the opposition leader, Sheikh Hasina. Although the remarks were expunged from the proceedings of the day under pressure, they sounded very offensive indeed.
As per newspaper reports the public exchequer spends around Tk 15,000 per minute to keep a parliamentary session running. The MP spoke for 12 minutes, and then the Speaker awarded him an additional eight minutes to continue with his speech The lawmaker was supposed to talk on the budget. But we were shocked to hear what he said, instead.
