Voter list

After going through your "Commentary" (Voters' list is too important for one person to decide, October 28), I completely agree with you. It seems we are very childish and do behave like kindergarten kids in whatever we do. Example: the communications minister blames passengers for paying extra bus fares.

I think the reason for this is that we are very servile. You see it everywhere. Look how subordinates cower before their officers or employees to their employers. And the flip side of being servile is to show our power. Anyone holding any sort of power tries to show it.

And the crunch? When both try to show their power it becomes a matter of ego, which in our case is very bloated. So? We stop talking. Who cares whether the whole world laughs. It's a matter of ego.

Therefore, as long as we have this mindset of being in servitude, we will act in this manner. Whoever gets power will abuse it on the weaker (the one without power), and when he meets his match (another one with power), they will both stop talking (like kindergarten kids), and then one will try to eliminate the other (if you understand what I mean).
