When will they learn?
A new law has been enacted concerning smoking in public places. Already, the law is being misquoted by police officials to earn some extra money. The law does not prohibit smoking in the streets and while riding cars and rickshaws. Police officials have made rickshaw passengers pay Tk. 50 for smoking; they have stopped smokers walking in the streets, and collected money. The other day, I observed an aged police official collecting money from young boys who were smoking inside Dhanmondi Lake area. All these things that they are doing are illegal. Something drastic needs to be done about the police force in our country; most of them never seem to learn. They retain their corrupt and bullying nature.
