Whither commitment?

I intend to narrate the philosophy of politics in Bangladesh perspective. Excepting our new generation almost all of us know (first hand) about the sacrifices of our veteran politicians. Today's Bangladesh is the result of such a sacrificial political decision. Politicians used to engage themselves with an attitude to serve the nation, the community. We found them fighting to establish an ideology. They didn't look for comfort, money and power. Even many of the then politicians couldn't make a family of their own.

Days have changed. Politicians are amassing huge amounts of money for election victory, sort of business investment. Is it really acceptable to the people in general?
