Why call them indigenous?
In your daily, I have been noticing that the tribal people of Bangladesh are being referred to as indigenous people. So far as my knowledge goes, we Bengalees are the indigenous people of Bengal. Then there are aborigines in the whole of South Asian sub-continent. 'Santals, 'Kol', 'Bheel etc are the aborigines still surviving after thousands of years of oppression by the invaders who came from outside and made this country their own.
In the last one thousand years, tribal people from China, Thailand, Myanmar and North-east India came and settled in parts of Bangladesh and you are trying to refer to these people as 'indigenous'.
By no stretch of imagination they are indigenous. If they are indigenous people, then who we Bengalees are?
