Why Rab
Secondly, if we think "law is almost useless" then also RAB is not the proper solution. Instead, laws need to be formulated in such a way so that it meets the demands of today's Bangladesh.
And, rather than the government coming up with "alternative solution", it is better to directly solve the existing solution, not avoid it preparing a new killer force. Like the police, if one day Rab also gets ineffective, then let me ask, do we need to come up with another task force with a new name?
Please be informed, punishment is only decided by court. Not by any other institution. The government can do change the laws, instead of preparing killer forces. This is more desirable. And in any circumstances we cannot overlook or overrule the law. By supporting Rab, we are being anti-democratic. I guess there is confusion in the reader's mind that I am protesting Rab's actions.
Well, I am not doing that, but stating that law should take its own course. With due respect to the laws of our country, I am stating that it is the court which should decide a criminal's punishment, none else. If we support RAB, then it is us who also are guilty of denying the law.
I don't know if Rab can gift us a "safe Bangladesh" as the reader expects, but I will certainly like to ask all civilians who have supported the RAB through DS, does it mean that we have lost all our faith in the government, police and the rule of law in this country and opted for direct eradication of crime through brutal killings?
However, opinions may differ. But, if we still think that Rab is the only solution which we have now, then aren't we announcing to the whole world that our law, our government and our police has failed? Is this the Bangladesh that we dreamt of and fought for the independence of this nation?
