AL team visits Santal community in Gaibandha

A delegation of ruling Awami League today visited Santal community in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha where at least three indigenous people were killed in a clash over land dispute.

After visiting the indigenous people, the five-member team led by BM Mozammel Haque, organising secretary of central Awami League, held a rally there this afternoon.

During the rally, the AL leader assured of giving land to each of homeless minority community people, our correspondent reports from the spot.

“We promise to give compensation to them who have suffered loss due to the clash” said Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, another organising secretary of AL.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent the AL team to visit the area.
