Attack a plot to catch fish in troubled water: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir says that the attack on renowned writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is a part of “plan to catch fish in troubled water”.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said that the attack on renowned writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is a part of “plan to catch fish in troubled water”.

"We think, it’s an another plot. It’s their plot who want to catch fish in troubled water," Fakhrul said in an impromptu reaction over the attack.

Renowned writer Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal was stabbed by an unidentified youth on Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) campus in Sylhet this afternoon.

Dr Iqbal has always been vocal against terrorism and fundamentalism and that’s why he got life threats on a number of times in the past, he added.
