A Rajshahi court today sent former mayor and local city BNP President Mizanur Rahman Minu to jail after he surrendered this morning.
Minu surrendered before the court around 11:30am seeking bail in eight violence cases filed during the BNP-led 20-party’s anti-government agitation earlier this year.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Joyonti Rani Das rejected Minu’s bail pleas and sent him to jail, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.
After hearing today, the judge upheld High Court’s anticipatory bail in one of the cases and sent him to jail over seven others.
