Ex-state minister for LGRD Ziaul Haq passes away

Former state minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Ziaul Haq Zia passed away at a hospital in Thailand today. He was 63.

Ziaul breathed his last at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok around 8:30am (local time), Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s media wing, told The Daily Star.

Ziaul had been suffering from cancer since long. Sayrul said the body will be brought back home tomorrow.

Ziaul Haque joined BNP politics in 1986. He was elected three times as the lawmaker of Lakshmipur constituency-1 from the party.
