Hasina, Khaleda trade Baishakh greetings

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her political rival BNP Chairperson Khaleda today exchanged greetings for Pahela Baishakh, the Bangla new year.

Noorelahi Mina, the premier’s assistant press secretary, told The Daily Star that Baishakh greeting, on behalf of the prime minister, was sent to the BNP chief.

BNP chief Khaleda Zia returned the greetings at 8:00pm this evening. Her private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar conveyed the card to Gono Bhaban.

The premier’s protocol officer Khorshed Alam accepted the card from her behalf, Samsuddin Didar, Khaleda’s press wing staff, told The Daily Star.
