Ivy gets AL nomination for NCC polls

Selina Hayat Ivy, incumbent mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, will contest in the upcoming polls of the city corporation with Awami League electoral symbol boat.

Awami League’s local government’s nomination board gave the nod to Ivy in a meeting held at party chief Sheikh Hasina’s Gono Bhaban residence this evening.

Biplob Barua, deputy office secretary of the ruling Awami League, confirmed The Daily Star of the development this evening, with just weeks remaining before the election.

The Narayanganj City Corporation will go to election on December 22, according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission.
