Kader Siddiqui opposes law for EC
Bangladesh Krishok Sramik Janata League today opposed enactment of a law on forming the next Election Commission in this parliament “as it was formed through a voter-less election”.
“We did not suggest enacting a law on formation of the EC as the incumbent parliament was elected in a voter-less election,” BKSJL Chairman Kader Siddiqui said after holding talks with President Abdul Hamid at Bangababhan this afternoon.

The party also urged the president to prepare a framework for reforming the EC exercising the power bestowed upon him.
“According to the country’s constitution, the president enjoys absolute jurisdiction over forming the EC and we will support him in whatever decision he takes,” Kader Siddiqui said.
