Money has a role to play in polls: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said that political parties are violating the limit of election expenditure permitted by the Election Commission in many cases.

“We can’t deny that money has a role to play. Political parties should keep their election expenditure within the permitted limit,” he said referring to the upcoming zila parishad elections scheduled to be held tomorrow.

The minister was talking to reporters at the conference room of the ministry in Dhaka, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

Quader, also the minister for road transport and bridges, also urged the party lawmakers to comply with the EC’s rule, the daily reports.
