Mymensingh UZ chairman arrested

Police have arrested the upazila parishad chairman of Gouripur and Mymensingh district BNP leader Ahmmed Tyebur Rahman over criminal charges.

A BNP joint convener of district (south), Tayebur was held from near Gouripur Upazila Parishad last evening, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

He was accused in several violence cases in Gouripur and Netrokona, said Delwar Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Gouripur Police Station. “He was arrested in a violence case of Purbadhala Police Station.”

Last reported, Tyebur was produced before the court.
