Visiting Zheng Xiaosong, vice minister of International Department of Communist Party of China central committee, is holding a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The visiting Chinese delegation that attended ruling Awami League’s council today also met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at the latter’s office.

Led by Zheng Xiaosong, vice-minister of International Department of Communist Party of China, the delegates held the hour-long meeting at Khaleda’s Gulshan office.

The meeting started around 5:15pm, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP chairperson’s media wing, told The Daily Star. Neither party formally announced the contents of their meeting.

This delegation came to Dhaka on Friday to attend the Awami League’s two-day long national council started at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan this morning.

Meeting sources said Khaleda thanked the Chinese delegation for visiting Bangladesh. The two sides also gave importance on strengthening ties and increasing communication.
