Rohingya man found dead in Cox’s Bazar refugee camp
Police recovered body of a Rohingya man from a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya upazila today.
The law enforcers primarily suspected that the youth, Mohammad Ilyas, 28, was strangled to death over marital feud, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports, quoting police.
The body was recovered from a house at the E-4 block of Kutupalang East camp this morning, said additional deputy inspector general Syed Harunur Rashid, also commander of the 14-Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
His body was lying on the ground at his house and a mark of strangulation was found around his neck, said the police official.
The cause of the death would be confirmed after the investigation is completed, Harunur said.
Quoting locals, he said Ilyas had two wives and several children. Recently his family feud turned extreme.
The body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
