UK minister Trevelyan visits Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camps

A four-member UK delegation, led by the country’s Indo-Pacific Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan, visited Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar today.

A four-member UK delegation, led by the country's Indo-Pacific Minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan, visited Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar today.

The delegation reached Ukhiya around 11:00am, said Mohammad Faruk Ahmed, senior assistant superintendent of Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-8.

Senior ASP Faruk Ahmed said after reaching Ukhiya, the UK delegation first visited the Kutupalong camp no-8 and later visited the camps no-18 and 20 (extended), reports our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent.

They also observed the activities of various agencies in the camps and talked to the Rohingyas, who were forcibly displaced from Myanmar.

After the visit, the delegation flew from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka in the afternoon, the police official added.
