Intrigued by the Arcane

When I was young I was always befuddled by the concept of magic. The ability to do the impossible, to conjure things out of thin air, defy death, all these appealed to me on a different level. I was very much into high fantasy just for the power that the wizards wielded. From mystical spells that can wipe out entire armies to shield barriers that could block a volley of arrows, the possibilities seemed endless.

No matter how you put it, magic is something that enchants people, gives them something extraordinary that doesn't stem from mundane, everyday stuff. We all dreamt of being in a world where we could flick our wrists and pull off amazing things like pushing people we don't like a mile away. That's just the tip of the iceberg. It would've been nice if all these weren't confined to only our imaginations.
