The Real Heroes

There's nothing new to say regarding the importance of teachers but a lot of us don't think much about what it's like to be one. Seeing my sister, who is a career teacher, I got to experience up close how the job is on a personal level.

There's nothing new to say regarding the importance of teachers but a lot of us don't think much about what it's like to be one. Seeing my sister, who is a career teacher, I got to experience up close how the job is on a personal level. The long hours that start super early to the afternoons and evenings taken up by checking copies, it's not as simple as it looks at all. We're quick to judge and blame teachers but at the end of the day, these are people who made the choice to dedicate their lives to the education of others, that too knowing full well the cons of the job.

Let's not even begin with the students whose mission in life is to make their teachers' lives hell. Through all of that, here I am writing this editorial thanks to that one Papiya miss, who patiently taught me to string letters together and form words. Every word I write is fully her credit and we all have someone like that. To the ones who taught us to be who we are and where we are, we thank you.
