On August 19, 2016, a music video for the Nazrul Sangeet “Dao Shourjo Dao Dhoirjo” was shot at East West University campus. The campus emerged lively with students singing along with veteran and upcoming artistes. Music has been arranged by Tanveer Alam Shawjeeb, and features around 65 artistes. To ensure the arrangement of the song did not diverge from the original tune, noted researcher Professor Emeritus Rafiqul Islam and Khilkhil Kazi, on behalf of Nazrul Islam's family, took part in the project. The entire project was planned and carried out under the guidance of eminent Nazrul Sangeet exponent and journalist, Sadya Afreen Mallick. With expectations to spread the messages of hope and peace among everyone, especially the youth, the objective of the venture is to promote Nazrul Sangeet among the masses, since the general understanding of the National Poet's works is unfortunately very limited. The music video, shot by filmmaker Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, is planned to be released on television channels today, August 27, 2016, marking Kazi Nazrul Islam's death anniversary.
