Tk 5,000 crore fund to manage shocks of natural disasters

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today proposed allocating Tk 5,000 crore as the 'Fund for managing the shocks of natural disasters' in the upcoming 2022-23 fiscal year.

The government continues to provide emergency financial assistance to the low-income people who become jobless or faced an income loss due to natural disasters.

The government started disbursing the fund from this fiscal year.

"We would like to continue this support in the next fiscal year, Kamal said in his budget speech.
