Chasing 310, Brothers Union enjoyed a breezy start and reached 49 inside seven overs. However, they lost wickets when they needed a big partnership and the scoreboard pressure finally got to them. After the 60-run stand for the 3rd wicket in 14.1 overs, Brothers Union found the required run-rate too tall and were eventually bowled out for 217 in 43.5 overs.

Farhad Hossain of Brothers Union smashed 70 from 79 balls but didn’t find enough support from the other end. Sheikh Jamal bowlers Tanbir Hayder captured 5-41 in 8.5 overs to polish off Brothers Union’s lower order.

Earlier, 106 from Prashant Chopra and Fazle Mahmud’s 78 propelled Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to 309/7 after 50 overs against Brothers Union. Sheikh Jamal captain Abdur Razzak decided to bat first and his openers Fazle and Mahbubul Karim gave a solid start. After Mahbubul’s departure, the 2nd wicket stand of 98 in 19.5 overs followed by the 3 rd wicket partnership of 126 in 17.1 overs took Sheikh Jamal past 300.

Prashant’s 106 came from 116 balls and contained seven fours and three sixes. Fazle smashed 78 from 75 balls while Abdullah Al Mamun made 59 at better than a run-a-ball.

For Brothers Union, Mohammad Saddam, Nihaduzzaman and Kazi Kamrul Islam took two wickets each.

Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity thumped Victoria Sporting Club by 57 runs at BKSP’s No.3 Ground today.

Chasing 304 to win, Victoria Sporting Club lost early wickets and were out of the contest at 5-127 inside 31 overs. The 7th wicket stand of 42 in 6.1 overs and the 10th wicket partnership of 48 not out in 7.3 overs reduced the deficit for Victoria in the end. Mohammad Arafat of Victoria was unbeaten on 47 from 41 balls.

Khelaghar bowler Suraj Randiv took 3-34 in 10 overs while Tanvir Islam captured two wickets to peg back Victoria.

Earlier, Khelaghar posted 303/7 in 50 overs thanks to Robiul Islam Robi’s 107 and Salauddin Pappu’s 60 against Victoria. Victoria Sporting captain won the toss and chose to field first. His decision seemed to backfire as Khelaghar raced to 107 for 1 inside 18 overs. After Victoria Sporting came back into the match with some wickets, the 4th wicket stand of 64 in 11.2 overs extended the game and consolidated the platform for a big total. Masum Khan and Dolar Mahmud stepped on the gas late in the innings and enabled their team to reach 303.

Robiul faced 115 balls for his 107, and he struck 15 fours and six in his hundred. Salauddin’s 60 was made from 51 balls and contained five fours and five hits over the fence.

Rubel Mia of Brothers Union took 3-58 in eight overs while Islamul Ahsan captured 2-44 in nine.

Gazi Group Cricketers defeated Partex Sporting Club by four wickets at BKSP’s No. 4 Ground today.

Gazi Group’s top order delivered substantial partnerships in their chase of 270 and although Partex fought back with wickets during the middle overs, Gazi Group crossed the finish line with six balls remaining in the match.

Jahurul Islam of Gazi Group held the innings together with his 96 from 122 balls. Anamul Haque made 36. For Partex, Rajibul Islam and Jubair Ahmed took two wickets each.

Earlier, Irfan Sukkur and Jatin Saxena helped their team Partex Sporting Club post 270/9 in 50 overs against Gazi Group Cricketers.

Nadif Chowdhury, captain of Gazi Group Cricketers asked Partex Sporting Club to bat first. Partex Sporting Club had a solid opening stand of 65 in 9.3 overs, but after the 3rd wicket partnership of 50 in 8.5 overs, Gazi Group’s bowlers took wickets in regular intervals and were able to restrict Partex’s total to 270 in the end.

Irfan made 69 from 77 balls with seven hits across the fence. Jatin smashed 61 from 52 balls with nine fours and a huge six to his name. Abu Hider and Hossain Ali of Gazi Group took two wickets each.
