BHF signs MoU with Al-Arafah to host youth hockey tournament
The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) yesterday signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited at the Bangladesh Air Force Falcon Hall to host the biggest youth hockey tournament in the country.
"The tournament will start from the first week of September and today's (Wednesday) meeting was only about the MoU signing," Mohammad Yusuf, Assistant General Secretary of BHF, told The Daily Star.
"57 district teams, a few teams from different education boards and BKSP will take part in the tournament which will be conducted in eight venues. We will have another meeting soon to finalise the fixtures," he added.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, the president of BHF and Farman R Chowdhury, the managing director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank, along with other staff of the federation were present at the event.
The parties have signed a contract worth 1 crore 50 lacs and a cheque of 50 lacs has already been provided. The rest of the money will be given in two installments.
