Former BHF general secretary Momin passes away

Veteran organiser Mahmud Ur Rahman Momin, the founding general secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) and former general secretary of Wari Club, died of old age at his Moghbazar residence today. He was 84.

National awardee Momin, who left behind three sons, one daughter and a lot of well-wishers to mourn his death, had been suffering from diabetic and heart diseases.
Momin played for East Pakistan hockey team from 1960 to 1965 in and also once captained the hockey team.
After the liberation, Momin was elected the first general secretary of the hockey federation and was at the helm from 1972 to 1981 before Abdus Sadeque replaced him in 1982. He also acted as the general secretary of Wari Club for a decade.
