Four-star Bangladesh move into hockey final
Bangladesh moved into the final of Asian Games Qualifiers with a 4-1 win over Thailand in Bangkok on Saturday.
Iman Gobinathan Krishnamurthy's side, who had already qualified for the Asian Games after group matches, will take on Oman in the title-deciding match on Sunday.
The men in red and green didn't make a positive start as they conceded the lead in the 10th minute from open play but soon hit back through a field goal from Roman Sarkar seven minutes into the second quarter.
Bangladesh took the lead and extended the advantage as Ashraful Islam converted two penalty corners in the 29th and 35th minutes before Rakibul Hasan wrapped up the victory with a field goal in the 47th minute.
Oman had beaten Indonesia 2-0 in the first semifinal earlier in the day.
