Golf's amateur world cup qualifier held

The latest stage of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, golf's largest and most exciting amateur tournament, took place at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka on September 24.

The 91st stage of 100 qualifiers for the global event, which has gone from strength to strength since the inaugural tournament in 2013, featured 105 players, all personally-invited guests of Turkish Airlines, said a press release from the airlines authority.

Brig Gen Ahsanul Haque Miah won the individual competition with 40 points and progressed to the Grand Final to be held in Antalya, Turkey, in October-November. Nazmul Hasan finished as the runner-up; Brig Gen Abdur Razzaque ended third while Shaila Ahsan and Maj Gen Manzurul Alam won the nearest-the-pin prizes.
